		FANCY-LEAF ZONAL PELARGONIUMS

Fancy-leaf pelargoniums have been in cultivation for over 200 years. Often the flowers are single and smaller than ‘regular’ zonals but the leaves provide the gardener with color, even when not flowering. Fancy-leaf varieties include tri-colors, silver-leaf, golf-leaf and butterfly. All fancy-leaf varieties require late afternoon shad to prevent damage to their leaves.

Tri-color Zonals

These are pelargoniums with at least three colors. The most common combination on the leaves is green, white and red.

Butterfly Zonals

These leaves will show a dark or light central marking in the shape of a butterfly.

Violet Lambton	Large single lavender flowers. Green foliage with cream blotch and faint brown zoning. Cream stems. $6.00.
White Butterfly	Double white flowers. Green leaf with butterfly mark in center. $7.00

Silver-Leaf Zonals

These cultivars have leaves colored green and white/cream. Though often it is the edge of the leaf that is silver, occasionally cultivars will have leaves that are veined or blotched in silver.
